This is an introduction course to occupational Spanish. This course will enhance the student’s ability to relate and recall phrases and responses. At the end of this course, students will be able to establish a basic line of communication, a safe environment and identify the need for the assistance of a Spanish translator while in the performance of duties.  This course focuses on techniques that will assist each student to be able to recall an appropriate phrase or response to conduct their duties and responsibilities while servicing the Spanish speaking community. This course is intended for the non-Spanish speaking law enforcement official.

*Priority for registration into this class is given to agencies within Pinellas County. Remaining seats will be open to all agencies 14 days from the start date.


Agency approval required before registration. Most agencies request that individual officers contact their training department prior to self-registration.
