This is an FDLE salary incentive course that provides an officer with an overview of policing within an educational environment. The course is recommended for those who are planning to be an SRO or for those officers who work closely with educational institutions.

This course will cover many areas to include interviewing, counseling, family dynamics, crisis identification intervention, and foundations of exceptional student education.
100% attendance is required and participants must achieve a minimum score of 80% on the written exam to receive a certificate of completion. *Agency authorization is required.
*Priority for registration into this class is given to agencies within Pinellas County. Remaining seats will be open to all agencies 30 days from the start date.

  • History and Philosophy of SRO Program
  • Emergency Management
  • Law and Legal Issues
  • Gangs
  • Drug Awareness and Current Trends
  • Cyber Crimes and Internet Ploys

Agency approval required before registration. Most agencies request that individual officers contact their training department prior to self-registration.
