The Learning Systems and Environments course presents information on several types of course delivery platforms. The Learning Management System (LMS), used primarily in the academic environment, and the content and digital assessment management systems, more frequently used in the commercial environment are presented and compared. Related topics are the Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) standards and compliance, and methods for data tracking and reporting of learner activities and progress. Learners will complete a practical application project focused on defining the criteria and process for selecting an LMS.

The purpose of this course is to educate students in the Instructional Technology certificate program on various Learning Management Systems and content and digital assessment learning systems used in both academia and corporate environments. Additionally, students will learn how to track and report data using these systems as well as complete a practical application project on this topic.
