What is a Patient Care Technician?
St. Petersburg College Workforce Education is offering a Patient Care Technician Program which provides hands-on assistance to serve patient’s needs, as well as work alongside doctors, nurses and other healthcare providers. This program will provide students with a strong foundation towards a healthcare career and/or pursuing a Nursing degree.
During this program students will learn the following tasks:
- Fundamental Nursing Skills - bed making, bathing, feeding, oxygen therapy, catheter care etc.
- Acquire, distribute and administer patient care supplies
- Perform safety checks and ensure cleanliness in patient rooms
- Accommodate the special needs of patients accordingly
- Obtain EKG readings and monitor vital signs
- Perform phlebotomy procedures
- Basic patient assessments

Refund Policy:
Fees are refundable if a student withdraws in writing prior to the first class meeting or prior to the second meeting of a class lasting more than one day. However, fees are not refundable once the student has logged in to the online content for the course.
All course materials (books, assessments, handouts, disks, unique online codes, etc.) must be returned, unused, within three days of the refund request in order for full refunds to be processed. If course materials are used or not returned within the three-day time period, a partial refund (the cost of course minus the cost of course materials) will be given.
