Over the next 10 years, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) or drones is expected to create more than 100,000 jobs in the United States and economic impact of $82 billion. Florida stands to benefit more than any other state as new regulations will bring 4,500 new jobs and $440 million in economic impact to the state by 2024. (Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International). In response to recent FAA rules regarding non-hobbyist small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) operations, the Workforce Institute at St. Petersburg College offers several on campus courses in this growing industry.
