This program consists of 40 hours of classroom and hands-on training designed for |
public and private safety personnel such as firefighters, highway department personnel |
and patrolling law enforcement officers. It provides basic knowledge and skills necessary |
to perform lifesaving interventions while awaiting the arrival of emergency medical |
services. Designed to fill the gap bewteen first aid training and Emergency Medical |
Technician training for non-EMS providers who, in the course of performing other duties |
are likely (or expected) to respond to emergencies. |
