This course consist of two parts which are repeated through all the classes: A grammar portion on the first half of the class and a conversation portion on the second half of the class.
The first half of the classes is used to explore the Spanish Grammar in a light and practical way, that is - not to examine every nook and cranny of it, but to learn just enough grammar to be able to put sentences together and be able to communicate sooner. The basic parts of the Spanish grammar are examined in a modular way: their uses, their positions in a sentence and their relation with each other, followed by exercises to help the student retain the concept.
On the second half of the class, the students are encouraged to hold conversations among themselves on topics suggested by the instructor with the instructor functioning as a vocabulary and grammar resource.
At the end of the course, the student should be able to build everyday sentences that are grammatically correct.
This course is intended for students who have taken the Spanish I, II and III courses or who have at least two years of Spanish experience and wish to continue to learn the language.
