CNA to CMA Bridge Program

If you are currently licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and looking to enhance your career by becoming a Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA), SPC’s CNA to CMA Bridge Program is for you!
Dates:  9/20/16-11/10/16 Every Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 AM-2:00 PM
Clinical Externship: 11/16/16-12/9/16 (days/hours vary)

*(Includes textbooks, uniform, physical exam (students responsible for flu vaccine and immunizations/titers), Level II background check, and NHA certification exam)*

PREREQUISITES:
 
  • Currently licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant with 2 years of experience during last 5 years
  • Current CPR for Healthcare Professionals certification
  • Successful completion of pre-assessment screening
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent and passing scores on the Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT) or Tests of Adult Basic Education (TABE)
  • Academic achievement to demonstrate college readiness: examples include college transcripts, Postsecondary Readiness Test (PERT) or Tests of Adult Basic Education (TABE)
  • Background screening to include Level II criminal background check, drug screen 
  • Physical exam with vaccine titers***Physical exam will be provided, however, students responsible for flu vaccine and immunizations or titers.

Description:
A clinical medical assistant is a multi-skilled healthcare professional who performs administrative and clinical duties. Clinical medical assistants are primarily employed in a medical clinic or a private physician's office. Completion of this training will allow you to sit for the National HealthCareer Association Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Certification.*

This class consists of 12 weeks:
Hands on training: This blended program includes online, live lab and clinical experience.
200 Hours: 60 hours online, 80 hours classroom and 60 hour externship.
