RN Refresher/Remediation Program
Description: The RN Refresher/Remediation Program at St. Petersburg College offers a comprehensive 12-week course tailored for individuals in two specific scenarios: those who have attempted the NCLEX-RN exam three times without success, and registered nurses who have been away from clinical practice for more than five years, resulting in an inactive RN license. Approved by the Florida Board of Nursing, this program aims to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to attain an active RN license and re-enter the nursing workforce.
Duration: 12 weeks
Curriculum: Participants will undergo an in-depth review of medical-surgical nursing and maternal-child nursing, supplemented by specialized topics including geriatric care, mental health nursing, pharmacology, and essential RN nursing procedures. The program employs a blended learning approach, combining online didactic components spanning 12 weeks with two face-to-face skills lab days held at the SPC campus.
