Aerial Operations

This 40 hour course will provide the driver/operator of fire apparatus equipped with 
aerial devices with training in the following areas: types and construction of aerial
apparatus, aerial inspection and maintenance, driving, positioning and stabilization,
operation of articulating and telescoping aerial apparatus, strategy and tactics, and testing
of aerial apparatus.This course of instruction meets requirements outlined in NFPA 1002 
Standard For The Fire Apparratus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications.
Students will be exposed to various aerial apparatus throughout the course, and must 
supply their own IFSTA Aerial Apparatus Driver/Operator Handbook, 1st Ed.
