This course is part of FDLE’s CJSTC Advanced Training salary incentive program is designed to enhance an officer’s knowledge, skills, and abilities for job performance. Through interpersonal communication, learning instruction and other techniques, the student will learn to recognize and apply job survival skills to the newly appointed trainee. The FTO course is designed to introduce many aspects of field training and evaluation programs. It is modeled after the 1970s San Jose Police Department FTO training program. This seminar is specifically designed for the newly appointed or aspiring FTO. It is not intended for the veteran FTO.
This course is Salary Incentive through CJSTC. There is an attendance policy and those attending will be required to pass a written exam by a minimum of 80%.
Agency approval required before class.
Most agencies request that individual officers contact their training department prior to self-registration. This course has restricted access to only currently sworn and direct support staff of an agency.
