The 40 hour FDLE course is designed to provide officers with instruction in the principles and operation of radar and laser instruments. Officers will be required to participate in field exercises to demonstrate an understanding of the practical operation of the speed measurement instruments. The course provides an opportunity for officers to develop specialized skills in radar and laser operations. Officers will be required to pass a practical and written test. There is an attendance policy.
Agency approval required before class. Most agencies request that individual officers contact their training department prior to self-registration. This course has restricted access to only currently sworn and direct support staff of an agency.
