Why try to schedule with others to observe anesthesia administration when what you want is hands-on practice?
SPC is the largest dental hygiene program in the region and Barbara Mulholland, RDH, BSHS, MSDH, is the lead instructor for this highly interactive course. Personal malpractice insurance is encouraged, but not required. You will be required to complete and sign SPC's Conditions for Student Participation release of liability and medical history form. These forms will be emailed to you after you register.
This course provides the registered dental hygienist with the required hours in both the didactic instruction and the clinical experience for FL certification. You will learn neurophysiology, armamentarium, techniques of local anesthesia administration, local and systemic complications, and the pharmacology of local anesthetic agents. This course will provide instruction to safely and effectively select and administer local anesthetic agents. This course is specifically designed to obtain your Florida certification.
Registration is limited and on a first-come-first-served basis.

Contact Hours:
60 hours for Dental Hygienist.
At the completion of this course, you will receive 60 CEUs towards your license, which will be reported to CE Broker from Provider #50-2525.

- Current CPR/Health Care Provider Certification

SPC is offering four days of ACTUAL clinical practice to enhance your clinical skills. This advantage allows you to apply immediately to the Florida Board for your Certificate to Administer Local Anesthesia.
Refund/cancellation policy:
Refunds will be given with written notice one week prior to the online component of the course opening. There will be no refunds or transfers if you are unable to complete the online component of the course or attend all the clinical lab dates and participate as a patient subject and both administer and receive local anesthesia. You must complete the online portion of the course and attend all four lab days in order to receive your Certificate of Completion. No partial credit is awarded. SPC reserves the right to cancel the course.
