This is the 32-hour International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA) certification course that prepares officers to work the street from a bicycle. This course involves a lot of outdoor activity including day and night open street rides, closed course obstacle navigation, scenarios, and basic maintenance.
Certified law enforcement bicycle unit officers, full or part time, will find this course beneficial. Basic bicycle-handling skills and a good physical condition are required for eligibility.
Students must pass the written and practical examination required for certification.
Agency approval required before class.
Most agencies request that individual officers contact their training department prior to self-registration. This course has restricted access to only currently sworn and direct support staff of an agency.
