A one day (8 hour) training program designed for law enforcement investigators, criminal interdiction officers, and supervisors participating in Narcotics Investigations. The curriculum will explain the differences, strengths, and weaknesses of different types of Confidential Sources that are utilized in high profile investigations. These types will include Sources of Information, Defendant Sources, Mercenary Sources and concerned Citizens. The program will provide the best practices when dealing and working Confidential Sources to protect the integrity of the investigation as well as the investigator. The instructors will provide guidance on how to recruit and develop these sources of information. Investigators will also learn techniques on how to properly debrief these sources and subsequently document this information in written debriefing reports.

Agency approval usually required before class. Most agencies request that individual officers contact their training department prior to self-registration.This course has restricted access to only currently sworn and direct support staff of an agency.
