Determining & Evaluating: True Victims, False Allegations, and Statements
This seminar will educate law enforcement personnel on forensic victimology, determining false allegations, and the evaluation of statements for falsity. Victimology is the social science study of victims. Clarity in understanding victim’s guides to investigative direction and suspect leads. False allegations are accusations regarding crimes that did not take place therefore, public safety personnel must develop insight into deception, characteristics of liars, and statement evaluation for falsity. Attendees will learn the tools to evaluate statements and examine words independent of case facts, which will help detect deception.
Agency approval required before registration. Most agencies request that individual officers contact their training department prior to self-registration.This course has restricted access to only currently sworn and direct support staff of an agency.
