Fire Service Hydraulics
This 40 hour course covers relationship flow, pressure, and mathematical hydraulic formulas. Fire hydraulics is an introduction to the principle, variables, and calculations concerning the practical application of water as utilized in the fire service. An overview of fire characteristics, properties of water, apparatus & appliances, fire streams, and hydraulic calculations will be addressed to establish a functional understanding of fireground hydraulics. This creates a baseline for the introduction of quick fireground hydraulics or "Rule of Hand" Calculation. A minimum score of 70% on written exam required for successful completion and to receive a certificate.
