This course is part of the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission Advanced Training Program.
This is an instructor certification course for students who desire to be a certified First Aid Instructor under the Florida Criminal Justice and Standards Training Commission.
This course is based on the premise that the primary objective of the basic first recruit First Aid instructor is to teach recruits their responsibilities for safe and effective response to an emergency medical situation.
Instructor students will be responsible for preparing and presenting a minimum of a one-hour lesson from the CMS First Aid for Criminal Justice Officers Basic Recruit curriculum to include a practical exercise/scenario.
There is an attendance policy and those attending will be required to pass a written exam with an 85% and demonstration all required proficiency skills.
Agency approval usually required before class. Most agencies request that individual officers contact their training department prior to self-registration.
This course has restricted access to only currently sworn and direct support staff of an agency.
