A General Lines Agent who is limited to transacting business related to property and casualty insurance sold to individuals and families for noncommercial purposes. An applicant for licensure must be: • A natural person at least 18 years of age. • A resident of the state of Florida. • A United States citizen or legal alien who possesses a work authorization from the United States Immigration and Naturalization Services. • All applicants with the Florida Department of Financial Services will be responsible for providing a Social Security Number. If you are a legal alien with a work authorization visa, you must apply for and obtain a Social Security Card prior to applying for licensure with the Florida Department of Financial Services. REQUIRED: • The textbook is purchased separately.  • The Florida General Lines Agent and Customer Representative Study Manual; Current Edition. NOTE: Since this class reviews Personal Lines material, you will only be required to master Units One, Two, Three, Four, Sixteen, and Seventeen. As for the questions located in the back of the study manual, glossary, and other items, it is important that you review those that are pertinent to the concepts required for this class. You may choose to purchase the textbook from one of the following vendors: • http://www.faiams.com/ • http://www.ecampus.com/ • http://www.efollett.com/ • Check with a local college bookstore This class is based upon the laws of Florida; however, some companies have not fully adopted to these guidelines. You need to understand the concepts how they are taught in this class and within the textbook for the class and state exams. Once you begin working (or continue to work) for an insurance company, you may note many variations during training, specifically in the insurance forms. This course promotes a self-study environment and is completed online within the ANGEL Learning Management System. Students will work at their own pace and complete all requirements by 11:59 PM ET on the course ending date. AN EMAIL WILL BE SENT WITH NEXT STEPS ,SYLLABUS, AND LOGIN INFORMATION.

NOTE: The prerequisites for a Personal Lines License have changed.  Students who have completed a correspondence course (your online 20-44 course at SPC fulfills this) in all lines of property and casualty insurance approved by the Department must now have at least three (3) months of responsible insurance duties (experience).
