General Public Safety Training Course
The overall goal of the General Public Safety Training is to provide law enforcement, first responders, and criminal justice practitioners with the information and skills needed to define, develop, nurture, and enhance specialized training techniques to improve the professionalism and effectiveness of the criminal justice system in their respective communities. Participants will be provided with a framework that will enable them to identify and classify criminal activities such as gang-related violence, drug trafficking and abuse, property crimes, and to develop community initiatives to address these issues. Some examples of General Public Safety Topics to be covered are as follows: Law Enforcement Suicide Prevention, Active Shooter, Sources of Information, K-9 Interdiction for Commercial Vehicles, Identifying Armed Offenders, Deciphering Gang Codes and Signals, Tactical Operations, Bath Salts, Forensic Statement Analysis, Detecting Hidden Compartments in Passenger Vehicles, Asset Forfeiture, and Tactical First Aid.
