Firefighter Internship Program
The program offers advanced training and certifications in Apparatus Operations, Fire Service Hydraulics, Emergency Vehicle Driver Training, & Advanced Auto Extrication. This class is designed to enhance your chances to become employed as a career firefighter and includes the class module “Firefighter Retention Refresher” which may be used toward your Firefighter Retention Certification Requirement. The program will consist of 286 hours of advanced training, including an 80 hour ride-along component with local fire departments. You must be a certified EMT or paramedic and have a Certificate of Completion from The Florida State Fire College to apply. Seating is limited and graduates of the St. Petersburg College Fire Academy will receive preference.
