RN Remediation/Refresher

St. Petersburg College Workforce Allied Health Program others an RN Remediation and Refresher program with two specialized tracks to meet the needs of nursing students at different stages in their careers. This 12-week course is designed for prospective nurses who have failed the N-CLEX 3 times and for Nurses who have stepped away from the bedside for more than 5 years and need to refresh their skills.

This RN Refresher/Remediation Course is designed for: 

1. Individuals who have failed the NCLEX-RN examination three times. These individuals have never held a nursing license or practiced as an RN. A letter of permission from the Florida Board of Nursing is required for them to start the remedial program.  

2. Individuals who passed the NCLEX-RN in the past, practiced as an RN, but have been more than five years away from patient care and allowed their RN license to expire. A letter of permission from the Florida Board of Nursing is required for them to start the clinical portion of the program.

Initial Application Documents Required

• Copy of Government issued Identification (i.e. Driver’s License)
• Copy of Permission Letter from FBON to start approved Refresher/Remediation course.
• Copy of inactive Florida RN License
