Funding Sources  

Workforce Education provides short-term certification training, many of which are included on the local Targeted Occupation List. Dependent on your situation, you may be eligible for funding. Contact the funders below to determine the eligibility requirements. Please note our courses are typically not eligible for Financial Aid/Pell Grant. In addition, Payment Plans may be available for eligible programs

Rapid Credentialing Scholarship Program

Workforce Education is offering free training for Pinellas County residents who are unemployed or furloughed due to COVID-19. SPC’s Rapid Credentialing Scholarship Program provides full-tuition scholarships where eligible applicants can earn sought-after skills to re-enter the workforce. Please click here to learn more.

Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)

Individuals interested in training for a new career may be eligible for assistance through WIOA. Available services are based on need determination and include tuition assistance, book allowances, uniform/supplies and career counseling. Services under this program are eligibility-based, all interested persons must meet and be able to document preliminary eligibility criteria to be a potential candidate.


CareerSource Youth Connect

Youth Connect is designed to provide services and resources aimed at helping youth to enroll and successfully complete academic or vocational training programs, develop leadership skills, prepare to enroll in post-secondary education or to enter employment.

Program eligibility includes economically disadvantaged youth and persons with disabilities between the ages of 16 and 24 who have dropped out of school, are ex-offenders, in foster care, homeless, pregnant or parenting, unemployed or underemployed and/or are basic skills deficient (must qualify as low income).

Tampa Bay Tech Hire

Tampa Bay TechHire provides FREE accelerated training and paid work experience opportunities to young adults in high-growth industries. Training includes tuition, lab and certification fees.


Barrett Family Veterans Fund

The Barrett Family has generously provided this opportunity for veterans to receive training which will be instrumental in starting a legacy of success and stability in the recipients lives. This opportunity is extended to honorably discharged veterans who are training within a program which is not approved for GI Bill benefits or who have exhausted their GI Bill benefits and still have more training time ahead before reaching their goal.
